About Us

Berkenyeliget Guesthouse, Szigliget, was born out of our love for this place and our respect for the past. During the renovation of the building, which once belonged to the gardener of the Esterházy family, we considered it important to preserve the charm of the traditional Balaton Uplands architecture, the thick stone walls, the arched and wooden beamed ceilings, while also ensuring our guests' comfort and the conditions for a carefree rest (satellite TV, unlimited Wi-Fi, a well-equipped kitchenette, etc.). We are proud that, based on our guests' feedback, we have succeeded in achieving our goal. Berkenyeliget Guesthouse has been awarded a three-star rating by the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association.

The Berkenyeliget Guesthouse is located in the center of the settlement, on a quiet street, near Szigliget Castle. The guesthouse has four separate, independently accessible living units, two on the upper floor and two on the ground floor. In addition, a communal kitchen, a common terrace opening from it, an inner courtyard with games, and a closed parking lot are available to our guests.

"We really liked the location of the guesthouse. Many places are within walking distance, yet the accommodation is still peaceful and quiet. We arrived with a younger and an older child and had plenty of space in the Kökény Suite. Everything we needed was prepared for us, including a baby bathtub, high chair, baby tableware, cot, baby bedding, and more. There were also books and toys available. The shared kitchen is well equipped as well. The host was kind and helpful, check-in was easy, and we had no problems with parking either. The mattress was a little too soft for us, but apart from that, everything was perfect."

Check-in and all the arrangements went completely smoothly, and throughout our stay we truly felt that it was important to them that we had a great time.
